Price : $13.12 a buffet. Sushi is good, food is good. Waiters are not too friendly. They expect a big tips. Good thing I understood Chinese. The waiters were rude talking in Chinese and thought I had no clue.

Let's be honest - part of what makes a great chinese buffet is quantity and selection. And there is no shortage of quantity and selection here. At all. With that said - I found most of the dishes to be the same quality as most chinese buffets. Which, to be honest, I kinda love. Chinese food is just something that isn't the same eaten like a regular meal. I find the decor pretty nice. One side of the restaurant has "bays" with like 4-6 booths each in them so it feels kind of private. My parents went for Sunday dinner and were seated in the "party" room and hated it - WAY too busy. Keep this in mind. The sushi was ok - I tend to stick to California roll types which most of this was. There were some interesting offerings like sushi with kiwi on top. I did not try the hibachi but if you're a fan of something like that It looked good. I will definitely be back! (This time not at lunch so I can feel free to stuff myself and not worry about falling asleep at my desk!)

One of the best Chinese buffets I have been to. Great selection and entrees were fresh. Sushi is on par with Chinese buffet sushi (never gonna be like Origami or other well established sushi restaurants). I loved the shrimp and clams. Cream cheese puffs are very good as well. I haven't tried the hibachi or Mongolian grill portion, but I will definitely be back to this location.

The selection of food was amazing. There was sushi and all kinds of seafood. Some of selections weren't as hot as I would like but I could of had them grill the meal right in font of me. The price was great. You can feed a large family for low cost. We saw lots of families. Better than Old Country Buffet.

This used to be the best Asian buffet around but their food quality has gotten worse the last few times I've been there. I even had to report a spoiled salad they were serving. I think prices went up too, recently, but sadly to say this place is still better than the other buffets of its type around the north metro.

OK.... it is a buffet, but since I used to live in Las Vegas I am ok with it. Even though there are elements to all buffets that are disgusting, I still risk them. The first time I ate here was the coldest day of the year with -45 degree windchill. My buddy (what up SE?!) took me there and as we rolled up to a strip mall way out in Fridley I thought "HMMM... what am in for"? The food is very good. Huge selections from standard chinese, salad bar, hibachi grill, pretty good sushi, mussels, clams, crayfish, and desserts. There are 4 or 5 buffet islands, not including the perimeter of food. I believe many people go there for only the crayfish (that would not be me), as plates and plates full passed our table. I love shrimp and they have 3 or 4 shrimp options alone. The trays are constantly being refiled with fresh food and every time I have been there the staff is working hard and quick. It can get pretty busy, but there is plenty of seating, and we have never had to wait. Although, when I was there on a Sunday brunch there were large families who did seem to have to wait awhile. Price is $10-$13 depending on when you go. I recommend to go there with an empty stomach, plan on staying around 1 1/2 hours, and load up! Yum! I heard there is a location in St. Paul, but have not tried it yet. Worth the 20 minute drive to Fridley, if you live in the city.

This is the best buffet in the cities! The place is clean and organized inside. It is huge and crazy packed on the weekend. I believe they serve seafood that's why is it always packed. I am impressed how fresh the food is. They have variety of food selections. Their food ranges from American fast food, Chinese food to Japanese sushi. Their desert area is amazing. I enjoyed their ice cream machine a lot. If you guys want crawfish, they have them here! Make sure to make your sauce by mixing lemon, salt and pepper. The staff is wonderful. They are friendly. You can locate them right away cause most of them wear black. Parking is free but during the weekend is packed. Enjoy!

This 4 stars is based solely on the fact that it is a buffet :) Nice and fresh selection of food Surprisingly decent sushi and a good selection as well, and most of the sushi rolls are a bit more creative and better than the typical sushi at a buffet Very clean and big Okay buffet service This place is probably one of the best Chinese buffets in the Twin Cities area. I would pick this over Teppanyaki and some other buffets. It's probably on the same level as Super Moon - I would say the difference is Super Moon has better seafood and food in general, but Hibachi Grill & Supreme has much better sushi rolls!

Great buffet with a ton of selections. The servers are nice and attentive but don't come here for the sushi, but you really should that already. No sushi at buffet places... raw fish needs to be made fresh. Take out is a must as well. $6 for non seafood, $8/lb for seafood. I'm not sure why there is a Leeann Chin near by here... who are these people that think that Leeann Chin is "food"? Anyways... food is great, please try the black and pepper chicken. It's seriously crack.

Staff was very attentive. A large selection of buffet food & sushi. I was not impressed with the hibachi. Some of the buffet food was a little dried out. Nothing terrible. We will definitely go back.

Good stuff. I always get a nice experience there, nice large selection of foods, I think 12 different tables to sample from as well as a Stir-Fry in the back, and a Susi-Bar, and Sweets Bar too !

Decided to give this place a try after many positive reviews from friends. I was not disappointed. Fantastic food (actually warm and fresh which can be hard to find at Chinese buffets), fairly decent service and a huge selection. The only downsides would be the wait time, price ($12.99 for dinner, not including a drink), and the temperature control. We sat at a table close to the door and froze the entire time since the door was held open by waiting customers. They need a much larger waiting area. Regardless, I must say I will probably not be frequenting any other Chinese buffets after experiencing this one!

  • Donald C.

It had one of the largest selections of seafood, sushi, and meat dishes I have seen. The quality was on par with most other buffets I have been to. However, there were very few vegetable offerings and almost nothing with which to make a salad. Cleanliness was not as high as I expected.

  • Pardra H.

The food was great, the variety of dishes there was great!! The sushi was amazing and fresh, and the place is comfy and modern. The service was fast, got a table right away, and waiter made regular checks. Wish there was a little more dessert selections but the main dishes really made up for that.

Found this place on Yelp. Tons of good reviews, so here's another. Not only is the Buffet big, it's got quality food on it. Hibachi grill was good also. When I'm back in that area I will return!

'...Another #@$! buffet review?! You need to give up on this reviewing thing OLD MAN...' I can't help it my kids demand this at least once a month... '...how is this any other buffet review you have ever done?!' I promise this one is different...(I hope) "Why would anybody care?!" Because a lot of Asian people in Minneapolis that have big families does that is why. This review is going to be a little different because I can't recall the last time my family has ever tried to go to a buffet restaurant on a Friday/Saturday night. This evolution is equivalent to taking your family to a Miley Ray Cyrus concert and expecting you or family will be same afterwards... Nevertheless, it actually did happened because our desperation from our long trip from Albertville Premier Outlet(N.W. Minneapolis). Despite we arrived at the restaurant 7:30pm on a Saturday night, there were quite a few people waiting outside as well as in the lobby. You can tell this restaurant is quite popular because 80-90% of the people standing around were Asians(yes, that is what I dependent upon for a place to go - sad but true). Our wait was only 15-20 minutes because this place had plenty of seating and the wonderful waiting staff was very efficient to get people in and out. I was also impressed that this place had quite a few chairs for people to sit while we waited. More important, they have an impressive aquarium with a lot of exotic fishes that was quite entertaining to my 'unsupervised' children. As for dinner, I love this place for its cleanliness on the buffet line as well as the size of choices. More important, they have one of the most impressive Mongolian's grill BBQ buffet line. This line had at least 2 kind of raw beef and good size raw shrimp which is unusual for any Mongolian BBQ line anywhere. Their sushi line was moving briskly to keep up the buffet crowd. I can't speak much for the regular 'hot buffet' line because I spend most of my time at the Mongolian BBQ and sushi line. I like to note that I enjoyed the crawfishes here because it was pretty big for MN standards affair and were plentiful(Asian people considered this as 'crack' for the modern world). In short, my family was pretty please and any time that my wife didn't submit the divorce papers from her cell phone, I considered a major victory and will give it at least a 4 star. Now, go stuff your face. Note: this is same restaurant franchise that is located in St. Paul on Robert Street which we also love. The desert bar in St. Paul is 2x better because it has a large Oreo cookie so you can eat with your vanilla ice cream. Yes, I am pathetic for knowing this.

Average Chinese buffet food....just LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of it! Customer service is surprisingly good for a buffet place. Always seems to be super busy...this is good for the restaurant, kind of irritating as a customer trying to navigate around clueless patrons. -Daddy Maxx Retro

Prob the best Chinese buffet I've ever been to. LOTS of diff food and fresh. Even the crawfish wasn't bad. Ate more than I should have as usual. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

As far as Asian/fusion buffets go... this one is up there. There is quite a broad range of how terrible and wonderful these can be, so I was very pleased (relieved) during my first experience. I came here hungry (hence why I ended up at an all-you-can-eat buffet!) and I was getting nervous, nay, hangry, when I saw the parking lot was packed. I was stressed about having to wait one more moment to stuff my face. But when we got into the restaurant, there was no line, we were seated immediately, and upon being seated we put in our drink order and were allowed to stampede the buffet. The sushi was amazing! I literally gasped loudly "WOAA!" when I saw the extensive arrangement. There was a lot of variety of rolls, nigiri, and accompaniments. And it was quality ingredients that seemed fresh, plus I never got an upset stomach (as I sometimes do with low-quality sushi). There were so many buffet options too. I was seriously having a good time and it was very evident haha. Some things that stuck out: these whole lightly fried fish (I forget the name), the HUGE pieces of fried calamari (crispy and very lightly battered!), stuffed mussels, cheese wontons, kimchi, and short ribs. There was a stir-fry bar, but I passed on it. There was a selection of 4 different soups, a salad bar, and dessert. There's an option to get lobster with your meal for an additional price, but they were out that night. But I was stuffed to the gills with everything else anyways. Only thing I was missing out on was I usually love the steamed crab legs at Asian buffets, but I didn't miss them too much. Tip: Check your local paper/mailings, as they usually send out coupons. For $2 off, our buffet was under $12 each for two.

This is likely one of the largest buffets in the Twin Cities, short of a casino. One notable thing about the Supreme is the large sushi roll assortment. It's extensive, made fresh constantly, and tastes great! You can, obviously, get better sushi at a dedicated establishment, but for the price, the sushi here is a real plus. This place is also busy. That's a good thing; the food is usually always fresh, and tables are cleaned up quickly. Waiters are usually within arms reach to refill drinks and take plates. Apparently, at the end of September 2014, this restaurant was raided by Homeland Security for alleged undocumented workers. A couple of weeks after that, the 'Now Hiring' signs appeared, the hours changed a bunch of times (they used to be open until 10:30 P.M.) and the prices went up: $9 for lunch and $15 for dinner. I guess I may have been enjoying great food at the cost of some poorly paid laborers. As a result, I probably won't go back until I hear a resolution in the case.

nice, clean and friendly service! Love the place. Their food always get better every time I come. Plus they get some new things for their buffet course which is a PLUS!!!

Okay, so I typically don't go to buffets as it is difficult for me to stomach more than one plate of food, but this place leaves me BEGGING to go! The selection here is unbelievable! They have Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Sushi, and even Mexican. They also have a Hibachi Grill much like Khan's! Its absolutely amazing! I came here tonight with family and for $10.99 (cheaper than OCB), you can get almost anything under the sun and more! The food is actually really good for a buffet, but seriously its PACKED because it is a newer place! They have a really great deal on a lunch buffet too, it's only $7.99 and that just can't be beat! Part of me wants to go back tomorrow, the rest of me knows that I'd have to buy a few sets of new clothes a size or two up because I can't help but love it!

This place is the Warren of all Buffets. Hibachi Grill is a huge buffet with a wide variety of food. I had chicken skewers, hot sour soup, egg fried rice, and fruit for desert (pineapples and strawberries) My wife tried a lichee nut. There were crawfish, mussels, and prawns. Also saw sushi as well as a griddle (like Kahns). The food was good. Better than at a lot of buffets I have experienced. They really were packing them in. Prepare to wait on weekends. Well Warren, your Buffet awaits.

The buffet is like going to the strip club...You miss it and think about going again...You eventually go and enjoy all the selection...than you leave and feel like a dirty hor. Happy to find a buffet this size located close to home. Way too lazy to drive to 98 lbs or mystik lake...The décor is nice, the selection is huge, and they have decent buffet sushi and Mongolian bbq. Food was slightly better than your average buffet food. Other than the norm, I remember eating salt&pepper shrimp, clams, crawfish (still no good crawfish in MN :(...The only thing missing was some crab legs. I would pay a little extra for that. Perhaps a seafood night or something...anyways, I will be back when I want to feel like a dirty little hor.

Hibachi provides one of the best Asian food buffets I have found in the Twin Cities. They have an excellent sushi bar, the food on their steam tables is always fresh, and the offer a Mongolian BBQ to prepare a fresh hot stir fry entree. Given the price (around $13) its hard to find a comparable value with this much variety.

As I continue making my ways through restuarants. This is was def one of them. Honestly, on a sunday, i have never been to a buffet that was so pack on a sunday. Especially when theres no many buffets in each lake area. I can see why theres 10,00 lakes and it was one of them. Very clean, fresh food, came in for the clams and mussles and crawfish of course. as I continue to find interesting places to try and eat i am always up for some new things. Def be back, but hopefully come when its not busy. Great place to eat fresh amazing food.

The 5 stars I give it is for in my opinion one of the best Chinese buffets in terms of selection and value in the Twin Cities. Taste is above average. for a buffet. Came here for my going away party with my family (was moving to California for residency) and came away impressed. Easy to find (big sign on the side of University Ave) with plenty of parking. Huge selection here, ranging from chinese dishes to american fare to sushi. The sushi was surprisingly not horrible as are the norm at buffet places that don't focus on sushi only. The american fare was great for my kid nephews. Chinese dishes aren't "authentic" but that's not what I expected anyway. Tasted fresh, so can't complain. The fruit variety was quite extensive which was nice at the end of the meal. Dessert ... awesome selection! Was a lot of fun getting different varieties with the kids. I did not try the hibachi/mongolian grill so no idea how the stir fry would be like. I don't tend to get this at a buffet place. All for around $10 was a pretty good deal. Now that I'm in California, this isn't as exciting of a place in comparison, but for the Twin Cities, it ranks up there as I said above in terms of value and selection.

WOW... WOW... WOW... I stepped out of my car into a Spring Lake Park strip mall parking lot and into a Charming warm Asian themed wonderland . It was like the scene out of the "Wizard of OZ" were Dorthy opens the door after the tornado and this Technicolor wonderland appears before her eyes. The owner completely transformed this property into place I would feel good bringing anyone. I was greeted and seated quickly and with one swift question I was given my drink offerings they did have beer but the diet coke was for me. Now about the food ... As far as quality - above average and the quality of the steam tables they were all HOT "VERY IMPORTANT" keeping the food tasting fresh and it was very fresh... The offerings were huge no taste bud would be let down...if you have a friend that may not be as happy with Asian food there was salad bar, chicken strips, pizza and lots more..... Tons of Fresh cut fruit... I don't care for sushi but the way people were taking it off, it had to be good - looked super fresh.. I was watching the tables around me they were really liking there food lots of smiles and comments like "WOW that was good" - FULL sushi bar OK - DESERT BAR.... I did not try it ... I was stuffed but it had 6 - 8 offerings NOW as you all know I love the bathroom review..... It was huge, clean, hip and had 30 min bathroom check list so the bathroom got a 10 out of 10 OH - it had a private party room and looked like it was set up for the task... I will make this my local stop for friends and family....

Wow...everything was excellent. The place was hopping with all kinds of people. Lots of large groups, but the wait at dinner time was pretty short. My only complaint: they only sell beer, no wine.

  • Eric M.

For such a terrible name, it's really good food. They have sushi, and seafood, and lots of general "chinese food" items. And the salad bar has a container of what appears to be cookie crisp, but I've never tried it.

  • Tommy_n_Loretta C.

If you like to eat yourself sick - this is the place. It's got the most extensive buffet I've seen in quite a while. It's really clean and they seem to be constantly sweeping the floors, bussing tables and keeping the buffet line full and clean. My family ate here and it wasn't the cheapest price for a buffet but they gave you a great variety of foods. If you like mussles, crawfish, fish, chinese food and a hibachi grill, you are in luck! Until the end of October, it's buy one get one free beers. If the buffet doesn't fill you up, you can also order fresh lobster!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
